Yeah, photography happens to be a hobby of mine. It's something that I don't get out and do much anymore, mostly because of lack of time. But, I have managed to take some great pictures, many of which are hosted here.

My primary camera is a Canon Rebel G, and I can usually be found with the 50mm prime in front. I'm definately a fan of prime lenses: they require you to think a little about what you're shooting, and anything that slows me down will result in artful shots. That being said, I'll admit that the 35-120mm zoom lens that came with the camera gets far more use than perhaps it should...

I really enjoy taking pictures of large structures. Bridges, for whatever reason, have always fascinated me, and I seem to have a knack for capturing them on film. This particular shot is of the Bixby Bridge along the California coast. While it was taken with an inexpensive Polaroid digital camera at low resolution, I think it's a really nice shot. If you browse my pictures directory, you will no doubt see quite a few shots of bridges, towers, and similar structures.

Which brings up my fascination with "toy" cameras. A lot of the pictures I take are with cameras that can best be described as "toys." I'm especially fond of old Polaroid, and can often be found wandering around with a 30-year-old Automatic 103 instant camera shooting black-and-white instant film. There is a page over on my wiki about PolaroidTechnique, which you are welcome to contribute to if you like. I've also done a lot with other Polariod cameras, like the SX-70. I've also been seen in public with one of those little Polaroid cameras that takes sticker prints.

I'm also interested in antique methods, although my current lack of a decent darkroom prevents me from exploring it as much as I'd like. I own a Bender 4x5 View Camera, and used to do a lot of pinhole photography with it as well as using it for tinplates and copper-etches.

I'm always experimenting with images on "film", although nowadays that's more likely to mean taking snapshots with my Olympus digital point-and-shoot.
